Cross-Cultural Care Program for Aged Care Staff
This online training program was developed by Flinders University, Resthaven Inc. and AnglicareSA Inc. and funded through the Department of Health.
The aim of this program is to support staff in residential aged care homes to provide high-quality cross-cultural care for residents and to improve team cohesion. This program includes five learning modules and Work related English Language Resources for Staff.

Culturally Responsive Practice with Older People in Health and Aged Care
The Culturally Responsive Practice with Older People in Health and Aged Care course is designed to complement the skills and capabilities of clinicians and health practitioners working in aged care with the knowledge to provide culturally responsive care to older people from migrant and refugee backgrounds.
The Migrant and Refugee Health Partnership (auspiced by Migration Council Australia) brings together representation from peak professional bodies for clinicians and the community sector to improve health access, experience and outcomes for migrant and refugee communities.
Diversity in Aged Care
Developed by CRANAplus, this free online training program for aged care staff provides an introduction to diversity themes including working with:
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People
- People from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds
- People with a Disability
- People that identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Intersex, Queer/Questioning (LGBTIQ)
- People who live in rural and remote areas of Australia.

Equip Aged Care Learning Packages
The Equip Aged Care Learning Modules are available for anyone interested in the aged care sector, including personal care workers, nurses, allied health professionals, volunteers and families.
Introductory modules for those new to the sector and refresher-level content for those familiar with aged care cover a range of aged care related topics. The Centre for Cultural Diversity in Ageing provided expert advice that informed the development of the modules.
SSI Culturally Responsive Support in Aged Care Course
The cultural diversity of aged care recipients and workers continues to grow. This e-learning was developed by SSI Diversity Training and supports direct care workers to create a positive experience with culturally diverse clients through understanding culturally responsive support. This self-paced online learning module consists of seven short lessons and can be completed on your laptop or any mobile device. Read more about the course and preview for free here. SBS Inclusion Program
The SBS Inclusion Program is designed to give all workers core skills and knowledge around inclusion in general, and also specifically around different diversity dimensions - gender, age, disability, LGBTIQ+, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, and cultural diversity.

Meaningful Ageing Australia
Multifaith Practices is an Australian edition of a Canadian publication called multi-faith Practices: Guidelines for Caregivers. Published in 2014 by the Schlegel-UW Research Institute for Ageing, the Meaningful Ageing edition amends the content for both Australian and aged care contexts. This guide covers six religions: Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism and Sikhism. Each chapter provides an overview for each religion, including: beliefs and values, sacred texts, holy days, holidays and ritual observances, late life celebrations, caring practices during illness, end of life practices, reading and prayers.
