2022 Diversity Webinar Series (Jan-Jun 2022)
The online Diversity Webinar series aims to engage staff working within the aged care sector in Australia with skills and knowledge to work effectively with diverse older people, their families, carers and advocates. It involves a range of topics relevant to culturally safe and inclusive practice, and is designed in response to topics requested from staff working in the aged care sector in Australia.

She has an incredible amount of unique insights, experiences and expertise to help People of Colour advance, and support executives, Boards, government and businesses to create inclusive, connected and engaged communities. Tasneem Chopra, OAM
For her efforts, Tasneem was recently appointed the inaugural Ambassador for Women of Colour, Australia and named an ‘Anti-Racism Champion’ by the Australian Human Rights Commission. A TEDxMelbourne presenter and writer, Tasneem has featured in SBS Life, The Guardian, The SMH and appeared on the BBC’s IQ2 Debates, Q&A and is a regular panellist on The Drum. She has also authored academic papers about diversity and social justice. |

The PEPA program is one of 12 National Palliative Care Projects funded by the Australian Government’s Department of Health since 2003. The objectives of the program are to build the capacity of the healthcare workforce to provide high quality palliative care. Helen is mindful that everyone in Australia has the right to access high quality palliative care, and that it is essential that this care is culturally responsive to the needs of our diverse community. As such, Helen has been working with the Migrant Resource Centre and it’s PICAC Officers to revise and co-facilitate the palliative approach to care for culturally and linguistically diverse community workshops. These workshops have been well received in Tasmania. Helen is a current Board Member of Karadi Aboriginal Corporation and, Palliative Care Tasmania. Nora Fernandes
