Resource- An Outline of Different Cultural Beliefs at the Time of Death

Loddon Mallee Regional Palliative Care Consortium has produced a resource outlining different cultural beliefs at the time of death. This document looks at the different religious beliefs surrounding death and dying and what funeral or burial rituals may be undertaken.

This document is provided as a brief resource, which may assist healthcare workers to understand the different cultural or religious approaches to death and dying.

The cultural and religious groups covered in this resource are: Buddhist; Catholic; Christian; Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormon); Greek Orthodox; Hindu; Jehovah's Witness; Jewish; Maori; Muslim (Islamic); Scientologist; Seventh Day Adventist; and Sikh.
