A new season of our Podcast is out now

In Season 3 we focus on the topic of supporting a culturally diverse aged care workforce.

We all know that Australia depends on overseas migration to address the current workforce shortages in the care industries. We also know that the Australian aged workforce is very diverse. According to the Department of Home Affairs, the top ten countries where people migrated to Australia from 2021 to 2022 include India, China, United Kingdom, Philippines, Nepal, Vietnam, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Pakistan, and South Africa.

The Centre for Cultural Diversity in Ageing notes that service providers, the government, the community, and the aged care sector at large have a responsibility to ensure the well-being of the culturally diverse workforce, but also equip them with the right skills to deliver high-quality care.
