Victorian Healthcare Week
Our very own Magdalena Ojeda, Diversity and Inclusion Advisor, spoke at the Victorian Healthcare Week last week at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. She was part of a panel discussion focusing on “Empowering Healthy Ageing: Enhancing Support for Ageing in Place and Seamless Home-to-Care Transitions.”
We were delighted that we were part of the panel together withHelen Kemp, General Manager, Community Health and Care,BenetasandOlivia Pantelidis, Executive General Manager, Care Partnering,Australian Unity.
Victorian Healthcare Week was a good opportunity to connect with other professionals who are also looking to drive change and make an impact in the aged care industry. One of them was Claire Johnson, National Director of the Palliative Aged Care Outcomes Program (PACOP), who had a very insightful presentation about an exciting framework aiming to improve the quality of care for residents who are dying in aged care homes, and the project of developing a similar consistent framework for home care in the future.
With the new changes in aged care, such as the new Aged Care Act, approaching, it is imperative to discuss ways to improve the delivery of culturally appropriate care. This conference was a great opportunity to share our training offerings, resources, and advice and gain a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities in home and residential care.
