The Centre’s Report on: Multicultural Seniors and their Perspectives on Ageing Well
The Centre for Cultural Diversity in Ageing held a series of workshops to consult with seniors from culturally, linguistically and faith diverse backgrounds.
The findings from these workshops have now been published and are available on The Centre’s website.
Participants expressed they wish to preserve their independence, access culturally appropriate care, and talked about the need to ensure fairness in the aged care system.
The key report recommendations are:
Expand Language Services
Enhance Culturally Appropriate Care
Support Community Groups and Volunteers
Increase Flexibility in Home Care Packages
Improve Access to Information and Support
